Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts to the Journal of Information Technology and Information Systems Management (JITISM). Manuscripts should be relevant to the focus and scope of the journal and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Before submitting a manuscript, authors are expected to read and comply with the journal's editorial policies, publication ethics, plagiarism policy, and submission requirements.

1. General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to JITISM should meet the following general requirements:

  • The manuscript must be original and relevant to the focus and scope of JITISM.
  • The manuscript must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
  • The manuscript should present a clear scholarly contribution in the field of information technology, information systems, or related areas covered by the journal.
  • The manuscript should be written clearly, systematically, and consistently.
  • Authors must ensure that all sources are appropriately cited and included in the reference list.
  • The manuscript must comply with the journal's publication ethics and plagiarism policy.
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all information presented in the manuscript.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare their manuscripts using the official JITISM article template when available. The manuscript should follow the structure and formatting requirements provided in the journal template.

Authors are advised to download and use the latest version of the template provided on the JITISM website before submitting their manuscript.

3. Manuscript Structure

The structure of a research article should generally contain the following components:

  • Title
  • Author Name(s) and Affiliation(s)
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review or Related Work (when applicable)
  • Research Method
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • Acknowledgments (when applicable)
  • References

The exact structure may be adjusted according to the type and methodology of the research, provided that the manuscript remains academically clear and systematically organized.

4. Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately represent the main topic of the manuscript. Authors should avoid unnecessarily long or ambiguous titles.

5. Author Information

The manuscript should provide accurate information about all authors, including their names, institutional affiliations, and relevant contact information. The corresponding author should be clearly identified.

All individuals listed as authors must have made an appropriate scholarly contribution to the work and should approve the submitted version of the manuscript.

6. Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise overview of the research. It should generally describe the background or purpose of the study, research method, main results, and principal conclusion.

The abstract should be understandable without requiring readers to consult the full manuscript.

7. Keywords

Authors should provide relevant keywords that represent the main topics, concepts, methods, or research area discussed in the manuscript. Appropriate keywords help improve the discoverability and indexing of published articles.

8. Introduction

The introduction should explain the background and context of the research, identify the research problem or gap, describe the objectives of the study, and clarify the contribution or significance of the research.

Relevant previous studies should be appropriately discussed and cited to establish the academic context of the research.

9. Literature Review or Related Work

When applicable, the literature review or related work section should critically discuss relevant previous research and demonstrate how the submitted study relates to existing knowledge.

Authors should prioritize relevant and credible scholarly sources and avoid including references that do not contribute meaningfully to the discussion.

10. Research Method

The research method should provide sufficient information about how the study was conducted. Depending on the type of research, this section may describe the research design, data sources, participants or samples, instruments, procedures, system development methods, experimental procedures, and data analysis techniques.

The methodology should be described clearly enough to allow readers to understand and evaluate the research process.

11. Results and Discussion

The results section should present the main findings of the research clearly and systematically. Tables, figures, charts, or other visual materials may be used when they improve the presentation and interpretation of the findings.

The discussion should explain the meaning and significance of the results, relate the findings to the research objectives and relevant previous studies, and describe the contribution or implications of the research.

12. Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the main findings and answer the research objectives or questions. Authors may also discuss implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research where appropriate.

The conclusion should not merely repeat the abstract or reproduce the entire discussion section.

13. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be relevant, clear, readable, and appropriately referenced in the manuscript. Each table and figure should have an appropriate number and descriptive caption.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission when using copyrighted figures, images, tables, or other materials from third-party sources when permission is required.

14. Citations and References

All works cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and references included in the reference list should be cited in the manuscript. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of their references.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or other appropriate reference management applications to improve citation consistency.

The citation and reference format should follow the style specified in the official JITISM article template.

15. Originality and Plagiarism

Submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work. Authors must appropriately acknowledge and cite ideas, text, data, figures, and other materials obtained from external sources.

Manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism-detection or similarity-checking software as part of the editorial process. Authors should also review the JITISM Plagiarism Policy before submission.

16. Research and Publication Ethics

Authors must comply with responsible research and publication practices. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, inappropriate authorship, duplicate submission, and other forms of research or publication misconduct are not acceptable.

Authors should review the JITISM Publication Ethics policy before submitting their manuscripts.

17. Conflict of Interest

Authors should disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably be considered to influence the research or its interpretation.

18. Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the JITISM online submission system. Authors are required to register or log in to the journal website and complete all required submission steps.

During submission, authors should provide complete and accurate manuscript metadata, including the article title, abstract, keywords, author names, affiliations, and other information requested by the system.

19. Peer Review and Revision

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening may proceed to the peer review process. Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts in response to comments and recommendations from reviewers and editors.

When submitting a revised manuscript, authors should carefully address the review comments and clearly indicate the changes made.

20. Article Processing Charges

JITISM does not charge authors for manuscript submission or publication. The submission fee, Article Processing Charge (APC), and publication fee are IDR 0 (Free of Charge).

21. Final Checklist Before Submission
